Hi, I’m Carissa, an illustrator from beautiful North Wales, living between the sea and the mountains.
Tea Drinker | Nature Lover | Simplicity Seeker
I love to work in black & white because I like to keep things simple. I try to keep my drawing practice as sustainable as possible, you can read more about that here.
Prints of my work are available in my online shop.
Offline usually in a coffee shop or walking in the mountains somewhere.
So here’s a little of my story:
After graduating in Psychology and English Literature back in 2011 I had no idea what to do with myself. So naturally I moved to Paris on a whim to be an au pair. Two and a half years later I moved back to North Wales with a very heavy suitcase, a slight addiction to croissants and a mad love for art and drawing.
Me and my then-recently-retired dad decided to study art and design at our local college. After that year full of experimentation he went on to study an undergraduate degree in art and I opened up a little Etsy shop in January 2017.
3 years of winging it and lots of lovely opportunities and commissions later, mostly due to wonderful ol’ instagram and being able to have my portfolio filling these little squares, leads me to where I am now.
Somedays I have to pinch myself that I’ve managed to take myself full time as an illustrator, with a cute (and cold) little studio and a head full of dreams that are slowly becoming real.
