January can be a rather jarring experience after the cosy festivities of Christmas. I’ve gotten caught up in the excitement of a blank page, a new year and a new decade in which to paint onto all my plans and dreams, and filled the beginning of the year with lots of exciting projects. And then I was struck down by a cold and fell behind on everything. And now rather than push myself to catch up I’ve accepted that it’s the middle of the damn winter and all I would like to do is hibernate and reflect and drink tea and do the bare minimum.
So if you too are feeling left behind as we wade into the middle of January then feel free to rebel with me. Last year I did my goal setting in March and I think this is a kindness I’m going to give myself this year and every year too. I’m still reflecting on 2019 and even the whole of the last decade. Lessons that I’d like to sit with and absorb a bit more until I pelt into the future. And taking note from nature, I’d like to spend just a little more time resting, and let my plans blossom in the spring. How about you?
